Papers
of the pup: At the moment
of the sale, the breeder must obligatory
give you from the documents which
are for you and your new protected
from the guarantees.
The
card of tattooing: Any dog
sold or yielded free must obligatory
be identified by the breeder or
the giver thanks to tattooing. This
serial number is made inside the
ear or of the thigh using a dermographe
or a pince.Une time tattooed, the
dog is recorded on the central data
base of the Canine Central Company.
In the event of loss or of flight,
it is thus easier to identify it
and find its owner. The chart of
tattooing is composed of two parts:
shutter A is given to the buyer,
the shutter B is sent to the SCC.
The
notebook of vaccination:
Even if it is not obligatory, a
serious breeder must make vaccinate
his pups as of the 8 weeks age against
the disease of Square, hepatitis
of Rubarth, the parvovirose and
the leptospirosis. He must thus
give you the health record attesting
that the vaccines were indeed carried
out and mentioning the types and
dates of vaccinations carried out,
as well as the corresponding labels
validated by the seal of the veterinary
surgeon.
The certificate
of birth: This document
is the family tree of the dog. It
is delivered following the declaration
of inscription of litter sent by
the breeder to the SCC. The certificate
of birth, also called "provisional
pedigree" brings the proof
that the parents of the pup are
of pure race. The buyer will be
able to transform it into "final
pedigree" when its dog, adult
once (12 to 15 month) passes successfully
an examination of confirmation in
front of an official judge. You
cannot require this document at
the time of the purchase, but will
receive it within approximately
one or two months. |

breeder must give to the future
owner a certificate of sale signed
of the two parts and comprising
the following mentions: the name
and co-ordinates of the breeder
and the buyer, identity of the dog
(race, age, number of tattooing),
the date of the sale, the selling
price. Other indications such as
the name of the veterinary surgeon
chosen by each part, the use which
one wishes to make of the dog (company,
drives out, production) and vaccinations
can also appear. |

The
disease of Square: Also
called "disease of the young
dogs", this viral affection
highly contagious striking animals
of all ages and more particularly
still pups. The transmission is
done by direct contact or projection
at the time of cough. Some symptoms:
high temperature, purulent flows
on the nose and eye-level, tough
cough, vomiting and diarrhoeas...
Once the declared disease, the treatment
is random and the many after-effects.
Hepatitis
of Rubarth: This viral disease
and contagious is transmitted by
the urines and can result in death
in a few hours. Symptoms: a fast
weakening accompanied by a strong
temperature, large ganglia, ocular
and digestive disorders. |
Parvovirose:
This very contagious disease is
transmitted by the soiled excrements
and objects. Had with the parvovirus,
a virus frightening and very resistant
to disinfecting usual, the disease
is fatal during one time going from
one to six days. If the dog passes
the five days course, it is likely
to cure, but can keep after-effects.
Symptoms: a state of prostration,
follow-up of vomiting and diarrhoeas
hemorrhagic resulting in death quickly. |
|
Leptospirosis:
Generally mortal, it is transmitted
by oral way. Conveyed by the urine
of the rats and desmulots, the transmission
is done by direct contact with infected
animals or by inhalation or ingestion
of ground, water, material or foodstuffs
contaminated. This disease is contagious
even for the man. The subject generally
dies 4 to 5 days after the manifestation
of the first symptoms. Only vaccination
is effective. Symptoms: the disease
can appear in the form of hemorrhagic
gastro-enteritis or a severe renal
insufficiency...
The
Cough of kennels: This viral
respiratory disease very contagious
is caused by various viruses and
bacteria, in particular that of
the disease of Square. It reaches
especially the alive young dogs
in community (kennels, animalery,
pension) and under bad conditions
of hygiene. Symptoms: nasal and
ocular flow, trachéïte
associated a laryngitis and bronchitis.
A quinteuse and strong cough appears,
similar to that of the whooping-cough
of the children. This disease can
develop towards a pneumonia. The
dog has a chance on two to survive.
The
Rage: This disease reaches
all the mammals, including the man.
It is transmitted by scratches or
saliva at the time of bites. Symptoms:
the virus reaches the nervous system,
causing behavioral problems then
crises of insanity, a paralysis
and death in a few days. As long
as the recall of vaccinations will
not have been carried out, avoid
any contact with the street and/or
to put it in connection with foreign
dogs which one is unaware of if
they are vaccinated.
ATTENTION:
Vaccinations are to be renewed on
average every year. The vaccine
against the rage cannot be carried
out before the three months age.
A "lapse of memory" can
have catastrophic consequences.

The
protection of the parasitized pet : If all the intestinal parasites
of the dog have not same aggressiveness,
some are particularly pathogenic,
like Ascaris: delay of growth, deficiencies
in vitamins, reduction in immunizing
defenses, diarrhoeas chronic, etc...
One knows that a majority of dogs
is infested with the birth (placental
transmission or by milk): parasitism
is thus not limited to the wandering
dogs!
The
protection of the family:
The intestinal parasites can be
responsible for zoonoses, it's to
saying that they are likely to be
transmitted to human type. Thus,
the eggs of Ascaris present in the
excrements of the dogs (but also
of the cats) can be accidentally
introduced by children (attention
with the sand vats...) and to cause
disorders related to the syndrome
larva migrans: larvae of Ascaris
develop in the body of child and
move by touching various bodies:
lungs (pneumonias), liver (abdominal
pains), and even in the eyes (uvéites).
Certain tapeworms (echinococci)
are the cause of disorders gravissimes,
which had with the development of
larval cysts (cysts hydatic) in
the liver, the brain. It is thus
wise of vermifuged regularly pet
to secure these diseases. |
|
Calendar
of vermifugation: The vermifugation
of the pup is essential: any pup
must be vermifuged as of one month
old, and every month until one year
old, in order to destroy all the
larval stages which can persist
in organism until this age. Thereafter,
the vermifugation will be adapted
to the way of life of l?animal;
according to the areas and possible
contacts with the other dogs, one
needs vermifuged two to four times
per year.
|
| A vermifugation
in spring and autumn appears the
desirable minimum for all the dogs.
The bitch gestante is also with
vermifuge carefully; the risk of
transmission of parasites to the
pups will be thus limited: to treat
with the moment of the projection,
then 10 days later and 10 days after
the setting-low. |
Which
products to use? All the
vermifuges are not worth: each product
has its spectrum of activity, some
are to be avoided on the bitch gestante,
others have a better larvicide activity
(important in the pup). Other leaves,
the presentations are multiple and
adaptable to all the cases of figure:
compressed, paste in syringe, liquids,
and even "spot one" (liquid
to be posed on the skin)... The
modern vermifuges are in addition
deprived of effects secondary (vomiting,
diarrhoea) and do not require a
particular precaution (not setting
with the diet in the majority of
the cases). Not to lose you there,
simplest is to ask council to your
veterinary surgeon. Remember that
the delivery of drug by your veterinary
surgeon does not pass obligatory
by the consultation: do not hesitate
to ask him council. With the vermifugation
a prevention against the external
parasites must be associated which
often find refuge in the peeling
of your dog. The pest-destroying
treatments exist in the form of
sprays to vaporize, of drops sold
in the form of pipettes, powder,
shampoos or tablets. They are an
excellent means of prevention against
the chips, lice, ticks and other
undesirable. The dog will have to
be treated several times in the
year, in particular in spring and
the autumn.
